Best Of 2014

We can't believe it's been a whole other year already, Frockers! This year saw a lot of fun fashion events, collaborations with some great companies, a bit of world travel and of course, more great fashion! A big thank you to all those who have been following our blog and supporting us. We wish you all a happy 2015!

Girly Trench

F21 Dress / H&M coat (old) / Winners Booties / American Apparel hat  / Thrifted belt and bag

Is there nothing more synonymous with fall fashion then a classic beige trench coat? This H&M slightly girlish trench has been with me throughout the years and was bought during my earlier days of discovering fashion love. Even then, I knew that a beige trench was a classic staple in my wardrobe. But now that I'm all grown up, it might be time for us to part ways as this coat has definitely seen better days. So, a final ode to the trench...you've served me well!

Brunchin' Good Time

There's nothing like a nice white dress with layers of accessories for a Sunday brunch with a girlfriend. I love wearing white because not only is it a great colour for most skin-tones and hair colours, but it offers the perfect backdrop for piling on the accessories and experimentation in the makeup department.

Specifically, I tried out a two-toned lip look for the first time and I think results are encouraging! I used gloss instead of lipstick for a more subtle effect and went with two kind of similar colours: a fuchsia pink on the upper lip and a cherry red on the lower lip. I'm not sure this look would be for every day, but it adds that extra little interest to a more subdued ensemble that I'm always searching for. Don't Worry, Be Happy

Hey Frockers! Debbie already gave you guys the Happy Lens scoop in an earlier post and I thought I'd show the different model that I received courtesy of Iris and Spy Optic. I went with a more square-shaped model than Debbie opted for, called "Discord" with the grey green lens. I have to say, I love the lenses. It hardly seems like I am wearings sunglasses, the view through the lenses is so clear and light! And despite this, I can still enjoy the sunny day without squinting and my eyes feel super protected.

In terms of the frames, I like the look of the Discord model, but they are just a bit too big for my face. I actually suggested Kyler try them and lo and behold, they look great on him! I'll be interested to see how they grow and develop their frame collection on the fashion side, as the frame styles are more on the sporty side. All in all, these are some great shades for those golden summer days!

                                                                         

A Touch of Lace and Leather

What better way to celebrate my birthday than with some floral, lace and leather. Here I am just on my way for a birthday dinner and decided to snap a few shots in one of my favorite dresses. Unfortunately the wind was so strong that day I had to wear my jacket on top.
I know that "the Slip dress" was a big trend last season and I love how this Zara dress just takes a little inspiration from that with the lace detail at the bottom, the perfect compliment to the delicate floral pattern. Also, you can never go wrong with the classic color combination of black, white and red- it's always a winner! Enjoy the weekend everyone!

It's been an amazing year of fashion, we can't believe it's already been one year since the blog was launched. We want to thank all our followers for supporting us in this passion project! Best of 2013

As another year comes to a close and we look back at all the adventures we had, the laughs we shared and the fashion we enjoyed, 2013 definitely goes into the history books as one of the best years ever. This was the year Bouquet of Frocks was born!
