This is the End

Scarf: Joe Fresh / Coat: Zara / Pants: Smart Set / Booties: Target / Hat: Thrifted

...Or at least I hope this is the end! For now, I'm wearing my favourite white coat from Zara, it is so light compared to most of my winter coats and so it literally feels like the weight of winter has been lifted when I wear it. Luckily, we are starting to see some warmer weather in the forecast so hopefully we can start fresh with some vibrant spring attire. I just can't wait!

Light Jeans: Not Just a Summer Thing!

Coat: H&M / Jeans: TJ Maxx / Top: Zara / Shoes: Old Navy / Bag: F21 / Scarf: Thrifted

What stands out most to me about this outfit is that I am wearing light jeans and it is not summer. Lately, I've had a change of heart about my preference in denim washes. For the longest time, I swore by dark denim, it felt so crisp and sophisticated and just, well, cool. But lately, a light wash has really been doing it for me and I'm learning to adopt lighter shades in colder seasons, something that has always been a challenge for me. And another thing, wearing dark shoes with light pants is a look that generally feels weird to me. But why? There's no point in hanging on to these fashion fallacies, just throw on your baddest beige trench and you're ready for anything!

Girly Trench

F21 Dress / H&M coat (old) / Winners Booties / American Apparel hat  / Thrifted belt and bag

Is there nothing more synonymous with fall fashion then a classic beige trench coat? This H&M slightly girlish trench has been with me throughout the years and was bought during my earlier days of discovering fashion love. Even then, I knew that a beige trench was a classic staple in my wardrobe. But now that I'm all grown up, it might be time for us to part ways as this coat has definitely seen better days. So, a final ode to the trench...you've served me well!

A Simple Formula

F21 skirt / H&M jacket / American Apparel shirt / Zara shoes / Thrifted Hat and Belt

The seasonal transition between summer and fall can be one of the most sartorially confusing times of the year. I know that for me, it is definitely the most challenging time no matter how much I prepare and do my fashion research (yes I just said research! haha). Therefore, I think sometimes it can be helpful to have a few simple formulas you can fall back on. Ok example, it might not look it at first, but this is a real easy outfit I would encourage anyone to try. Black skirt + white shirt + fun jacket! It really is the simplest formula and I think several variations of this would work perfectly well. Next time you're stuck, just think of one of those simple formulas, and bring it to life!

La Vie en Rose

Hat and Jacket: Thrifted / Skirt: H&M / Top: Joe Fresh / Socks: American Apparel / Shoes: Payless / Brooch: Thrifted

Don't you just love when an outfit comes together so effortlessly, that's when you know it was meant to be. I spotted this pink jacket at a vintage sale to support Alzheimer care and immediately fell in love. When I got home I added the brooch for a little extra punch and it was like a match made in heaven. Once I had this jacket, I picked out a few pieces that fit into the girlish romantic story and the textures and colours all came together beautifully. Sometimes, the best way to create an outfit is to work around one particular piece because this will keep you focused instead of tearing apart your closet aimlessly. We've all been there, right ladies?!

Those Grey Days...

Sweater: Zara / Pants: H&M / Boots: Kenneth Cole Reaction

How much longer can winter drag on? Well, I am making an effort to maintain a little bit of style during these dark days. Even though my outfit has zero color to it, I think the crazy pattern pants are a lot of fun and a beaded collar on an otherwise boring grey sweater never hurt anyone. I'm still trying to keep it alive, people.

Hey Frockers! Here I am looking a lil under the weather but still really loving this simple black and white dress. This is a perfect young and versatile look for wearing to the office or for going out (after work, perhaps), hitting the right tone between cute and sophisticated. I love the simple statement that this dress makes, not too much, not too little. It's also a really easy dress you can just throw on with a pair of opaque tights and some boots and feel completely put together. Easy-breezy!
