Best of 2013

As another year comes to a close and we look back at all the adventures we had, the laughs we shared and the fashion we enjoyed, 2013 definitely goes into the history books as one of the best years ever. This was the year Bouquet of Frocks was born!

Here's a look back at some of our favourite fashion moments of 2013.

The First Snow

Well it's that time of year! We've had our first snow and even our second snow and the Canadian deep freeze is settling in. Although temperatures are pretty much unbearable this time of year, Jackie and I still ventured out to take a few photos. The jacket I'm wearing below is perhaps one of my favorites even though I must admit, it isn't quite the warmest. Not to worry, I've found a solution: my little trick for wearing my favourite "not-made-for-Canadian-winters" coats is layering a warm puffy vest underneath. Works like a charm! If any of you have any clever tricks you'd like to share with me on the art of staying toasty while looking cute, please do tell! See ya later, Frockers.

Autumn Getaway

Photos by Kyler Kelly

I recently went down to Vermont for the first time and for those of you who have never been, just imagine the cutest, quaint, little countryside you've ever seen and double that. It was just miles and miles of red barns, wooden fences and covered bridges. We just missed the foliage peak season, but there were still some breath-taking views! What better attire for a brisk, road-trip getaway than in a flowing pink skirt paired with brown knee-high boots, cream-coloured fuzzy sweater and wool jacket.

The Structured Jacket

Don't get me wrong, I love the ease and comfort of a simple, cotton floral dress. But sometimes, those cutetsy lightweight frocks just don't cut it, especially when hot, humid summer days are very much long gone. To add a little sophistication, think about throwing over a structured jacket such as a blazer or something like this little Chanel-inspired number I'm wearing. I get so many compliments on this jacket and most people can't believe I picked this piece up at Forever 21 (my hours of research and browsing pay off!). I think it's funny when ladies tell me "It looks very Chanel, you know?" as if I'm not already aware of the likeness...I mean come on, people, it's the reason I bought the jacket! All kidding aside, a chic jacket is a perfect way to add some sophistication to your outfit and pull everything together.
