I would definitely say that cardigans are a wardrobe must-have. I myself have several in my collection because nothing helps you hang onto your summer garb long after summer is over than a good ol' cardi. I'm dressing it up with loads of accessories in this look to add a bit more interest to an otherwise plain cardigan from H&M. By the way, for all you short girls out there, I find that accentuating the waist with a belt is a great way to make your short legs look....well not long but not even shorter in those longer skirts. Anyway, back to cardis....I like to round out my collection with neutral colours that go with everything, with one or two textured or fun-coloured design. What can I say? Cardigans are like jeans to me.

I always love fall in Montreal. There is no autumn more picturesque in Canada. Even though, it is kind of the slow death of summer, heralding in the long, cold, hard Canadian winter...but I digress. Fall is also synonymous with the start of a new school year and this year, as some of you might know, I decided to leap back into university after a few years of getting my bachelor's degree. Cue the plaid skirts, vintage schoolbags and retro college girl vibe! I have to say, dressing the part does make hitting the books and heading to class a bit more fun...

Frockers, if you've been following the blog from the beginning, you will remember how much I love ModCloth. It is one of my all-time favourite online retailers. If you check out their website, I think it's pretty clear why. They have all the cutest indie, vintage and retro-inspired pieces that you can find anywhere! They have everything from clothes to accessories, handbags and shoes to home décor and gift items. And I think because they are an online store, they really put everything into the shopping experience. You can chat with a ModStylist while you shop if you have any questions or need some help and they have a blog section where you can check out their looks on real people and see tons of extra fun stuff like DIY and makeup tutorials. And they are one of the few online retailers I've seen that have a variety of Plus Size Dresses. Diversity of sizing is important to me since I have trouble myself, fitting into the standard S, M, and L. Amirite ladies? Tulle We Meet Again

One of the things I hate most about winter is the ritual of packing away our favourite skirts and dresses, never to see the light of day. I maintain a firm belief that trousers need not be winter's go-to garment. Though you may not want to venture out of doors literally in bare skin, who's to tell you a trip to the museum, high-tea with your cousin, or any ol' Tuesday can't be kicked up a notch? There's no lighter feeling than a tulle skirt that just seems to float around your body. Hello old friend, it's been too long...

Pretty In Pink

I got this fuzzy pink sweater in Korea and I'm actually kind of bummed that I haven't been able to wear it much this winter. For some reason, the heat is on full blast at our office and I've had to sport short-sleeves on a daily basis or risk heat stroke. 

However, due to my, shall we say...frugal nature...I do keep my apartment at a chilly 18 degrees so I whip out this darling sweater on those weekends at home. Side-note: if you know me, you're probably confused since I tend to start shivering if the mercury dips below 24, but it costs a lot to heat a whole apartment ok?

Anyway, I just love the idea of pairing this sweet, baby pink sweater with an equally sweet, baby blue skirt, chilly as my legs may get. And let's face it. Even if I wore wool pants, I'd still need to throw on a robe and huddle under two blankets to keep warm!

Holiday season = party season and if you're anything like me, you have a stunning sequin number hanging in the back of your closet that never sees the light of day. Well now's the time to whip it out! If you're hesitant to go full sequin, opt for a sweet sweater with a dash of sparkle like Debbie. And a good rule of thumb when accessorizing is to let the outfit do the twinkling by keeping the shiny jewelry and makeup to a minimum.

We're not just decking the halls...we're decking ourselves with a little bit of glam! Happy Holidays!

Autumn Getaway

I recently went down to Vermont for the first time and for those of you who have never been, just imagine the cutest, quaint, little countryside you've ever seen and double that. It was just miles and miles of red barns, wooden fences and covered bridges. We just missed the foliage peak season, but there were still some breath-taking views! What better attire for a brisk, road-trip getaway than in a flowing pink skirt paired with brown knee-high boots, cream-coloured fuzzy sweater and wool jacket.

Happy Halloween

Hey Frockers! Hope everyone had a fun-filled Halloween, because we sure did! The day was off to a great start as we arrived at the office and enjoyed some gummy bears and M&Ms for breakfast.
