The Culottes

Top: Jessica Simpson / Culottes and Shoes: Winners / Headband: Aldo Accessories

I really love trying out a new trend and a big one this year has been the culottes. I also accompanied them with a few other of the moment summer trends namely the floral headband and the metallic tattoos. Speaking of summer, it's scary to think that we only have maybe one to two months (max) left of this beautiful hot season here in Montreal...so sad! Once I start seeing the school supplies hitting the stores, the anxiety kicks in.
Back to the culottes, what did it for me was the crochet detail on the bottom. When do I NOT love a crochet detail? And it sort of matches the detail on my top which I love. The length and silhouette of the culotte is not very conventional but trying a new look can be definitely rewarding and that's why we do it!

Riverside Stroll

F21 jumpsuit
H&M hat
Sandals from India
Old handbag

I live close to the Saint Lawrence River in Montreal and every summer, it's teeming with swimmers, fishermen, joggers....just about every outdoor activity you can think of, you're bound to come across it just by strolling along the river. They even have kayaks you can rent and I think I saw a beaver once while kayaking down the river. It was an exciting day.

On those muggy Montreal summer days, there's nothing better than a promenade down to the river in something as light and airy as this cute floral jumpsuit I picked up earlier this season. I threw on a wide-brimmed paper panama hat and my favourite sandals from India and I was ready to beat the heat.

Pool Hangz

Summer is officially at its peak and I'll be honest, there hasn't been enough time for me to be doing this sort of thing (what you see below). But I finally managed to take the time and got to wear my most recent Joe Fresh swimsuit for the occasion. They are definitely one of my go-to's for swimwear. Hope everyone is enjoying the heat!

Festival Fashion (Feat. Friendly Alley Kitty)

Zara dress
F21 hat
old purse
sandals from India

Jazz Fest, Fringe Fest, FrancoFolies, Osheaga....A Montreal summer is never without a jam fest (especially outdoors!) for more than 30 seconds. And with that comes some boho festival fashions! This new Zara tunic dress I picked up earlier this summer perfectly embodies the free-flowing, breezy spirit of all the best outdoor music festivals. I'm pairing it with a basic strappy sandal I picked up in India and my favourite floppy hat.

And let me just tell you about this cat for a second. He was soooo cute, just following us around the alley as we were shooting, rolling around on the ground, begging for belly rubs, purring like crazy. I had to break character and cuddle the little fella while talking in a baby voice. I just had to.

Here's to a long summer of tunes and friendly kitties!

A Little Bit of Bridal Glam

Happy Canada Day, Frockers! I thought I'd wish Canada a happy birthday with a little bit of glam and share my latest wedding makeup adventure with y'all. As you know, I've been messing around with looks for the past few months to try and find one that really speaks to me and I think I may have stumbled upon the one.

Of course, it will all depend on the dress in the end, but I came up with a pretty great look by accident! I was seriously just messing around and then this happened:

Ignore the wonky eyelashes and eyebrows please! I still need some practice in some areas...

So anyway, I surprised and impressed myself and was eager to not let this be a fluke. I filmed a tutorial so I could practice and remind myself how I did this at any time in the future. Also, I had posted these pics on Reddit to ask for some internet stranger advice (aka the most honest kind) and it got so many upvotes and kind comments. It was really overwhelming. I honestly thought I might be crucified for having crazy eyebrows and uneven shadow application, but a few people even asked for a tutorial, so as soon as I had some free time, I filmed my very first makeup tutorial. Hope you guys like it!
