Frockers, if you've been following the blog from the beginning, you will remember how much I love ModCloth. It is one of my all-time favourite online retailers. If you check out their website, I think it's pretty clear why. They have all the cutest indie, vintage and retro-inspired pieces that you can find anywhere! They have everything from clothes to accessories, handbags and shoes to home décor and gift items. And I think because they are an online store, they really put everything into the shopping experience. You can chat with a ModStylist while you shop if you have any questions or need some help and they have a blog section where you can check out their looks on real people and see tons of extra fun stuff like DIY and makeup tutorials. And they are one of the few online retailers I've seen that have a variety of Plus Size Dresses. Diversity of sizing is important to me since I have trouble myself, fitting into the standard S, M, and L. Amirite ladies? Move over geographic, asymmetrical hemlines, the midi skirt is having its moment!

Forgo the mini skirts and A-liners this season and embrace the full, below-the-knee look. It has always been one of my favourite wardrobe staples. I consider it a must-have in my closet, the same way most women might think of skinny jeans or a white blouse. No doubt you Frockers know my favourite Modcloth skirt well, and the newest way to wear it is actually a nod to the olden days: with a plain sweater and simple pumps. There's something so classy, feminine and pretty about this silhouette. And if you happen to prefer a more edgy or modern take on the midi skirt, just swap out the fitted sweater for a baggy one and trade your pumps in for some high-tops. The skirt still works!

I have to say, it really warms my heart that a fashion piece I've longed admired (and will admire long after the trend fades) has finally gotten the attention it so deserves! Here's to you, midi!
                                                             

Summer Days Are Drifting Away...

 ...but that's not going to stop Debbie and I from living out the final golden days of summer with our take on nautical resortwear. Forget the sailor pants and stripes with red, our version is all about light, airy and pretty! And personally, I can't let an outfit go without a hit of colour.

The Retro One-Piece of My Dreams

As you will all come to know, Modcloth is one of my favourite shops, especially for all things retro. And as I mentioned in an earlier post (Just Beachy), I'm not really into the tiny string bikinis. Enter this amazing Esther Williams number from Modcloth that just hugs, drapes and pulls in all the right places.

Swoon.

Forget those triangle bikini tops, I have never felt so fetching in swimwear!

                                                 

Going To The Ice Cream Social

I love nearly all things vintage and retro, but I have a particular soft spot for the '50s and '60s. There's nothing I love more than a good circle skirt or fit n' flare dress paired with romantic waves and sensible heels.

So you can imagine the puddles of drool that formed around my laptop when I spotted this seafoam polka dot number from Modcloth. The skirt needs a bit of help in the flare department (nothing a few swings of the hips can't fix) but this piece is a true timeless classic.
