Tropical Vacation: Part 2

Hey Frockers! Here is another little series of photos from my recent stay in the Dominican. As I mentioned in my last post, my November vacation was the perfect opportunity to pull out those summer pieces that I purchased at the very end of the summer season on sale. Here is yet another example. This simple, elegant Joe Fresh one-piece was just calling my name and spared me absolutely no mercy with it's 7$ price tag! Enjoy!

Miami Moments: Part 2

Here I am on day 2 of my Miami trip still lounging around and feeling blissful. I picked up this easy cotton dress at H&M the week before and loved the strangely glam black and gold pattern. It really reminded me of clothing my grandmother used to wear (she was pretty glam) so it was a must-have.

Miami Moments: Part 1

Hi Frockers! This week I want to share with you some of my favorite fashion moments from my recent weekend trip to Miami. I spent an amazing three days on the beach, basking in the sun and sipping sweet lemonade. I love the simplicity that comes with such hot weather and the beach life. When I’m here, all I really need is a bathing suit, a head scarf and my beach bag. Here’s some pictures of my first morning in Miami, getting ready to hit the beach in a classic black two-piece. Poolside Chic

I like to call this my "poolside chic" look and if I could, I would wear this outfit every day. This look embraces a few of my favourite style components: a high waist, a great hat, and a neutral sandal. Sometimes I wish summer could last all year long, but alas, the presence of seasons makes way for more exciting fashion adventures. 

But for now...let summer live on!

The Retro One-Piece of My Dreams

As you will all come to know, Modcloth is one of my favourite shops, especially for all things retro. And as I mentioned in an earlier post (Just Beachy), I'm not really into the tiny string bikinis. Enter this amazing Esther Williams number from Modcloth that just hugs, drapes and pulls in all the right places.

Swoon.

Forget those triangle bikini tops, I have never felt so fetching in swimwear!

                                                 

Just Beachy

 

Ladies who are shopping for a new two-piece this season and aren't so much into the itsy-bitsy-teeny-weeny bikinis: a high-waisted ensemble is an excellent alternative! Personally, I haven't worn a bikini in years (I've always found them unflattering the way they cinch all your soft bits!), but these basic black bottoms fall perfectly to accentuate my natural waistline and hide my "pooch" just right. Nothing against pooches, but I prefer mine to take a vacation when I'm on vacation!

This retro number can easily be paired with a basic bandeau, halter or bralette top, or if you're looking to add even more interest, go for a print!

Swimsuit Study

Loathed by most of the sane female population, the hunt for the perfect swimsuit is never an easy feat. Despite this fact, I almost always take joy in the face of a sartorial challenge. No matter the season, I will often gravitate towards the swim section of any retail store for just a quick browse. I really feel it's necessary to put in the proper time and commitment to finding a swimsuit that is not only comfortable but also, makes you look and more importantly, feel great. Because that's what summer is all about, ladies- feeling great! Besides, there is never (and I mean, NEVER) any harm in a quick browse.
