Denim Daze

Jackie: You know what I love Debbie? A good ol' pair of cowboy boots. And if they are Italian-made for 8 dollars...well that's even better! For this look, I paired them with a classic denim miniskirt (honestly, I have to do it now while I can still get away with such daring hemlines!) and a sheer and easy floral top.

Debbie: I agree, gotta show off those legs while we still can! For my look, I pulled this sweet little denim dress from my closet to help enhance my southern belle persona. I've always kind of fantasized about living in the south mostly because I love the perpetual golden glow that comes with that fantasy. My sandals are also vintage and cost me a whole 8 dollars as well.

For the Valentino Lovers On a Budget

I have been waiting forever for someone to replicate my favorite Valentino low pump. As the price tag on these is rather steep, I have no real other choice. I have even shamelessly typed in the words "Valentino Shoe Replica" into my Google searches but to no avail. I first discovered this Valentino pump as it kept reappearing on the feet of my number one fashion idol, the remarkable Giovanna Battaglia. See here. And now, finally, Zara has answered my prayers. While doing my usual browse, I came across these lovelies:

As the euphoria began to wear off, the obvious dilemma made itself apparent. Which colour would I be adopting into my shoe family? The luscious red: fun, exotic, sexy...or the classic nude: a shoe that goes with everything.

Which colour do you prefer?

Head Gear

Now that the warmer weather has officially settled in, I find myself pulling out some of my best summer head gear. This weekend, I did one of my usual excursions to Forever 21 and walked out with two new pieces to add to my collection. Headbands and headscarves are especially great in summer as an easy alternative to keep hair out of the face and at the same time, keep you feeling effortlessly chic. Here are just a few examples of headbands and headscarves for your indulgence.(Frankly, I realize headband #2 is quite obviously reminiscent of Minnie Mouse, but that's the point.) Don't be intimidated by a good old-fashioned headscarf. It really is a classic way to add a little fun to any outfit!

The White Dress: I Do!

The white sun dress only comes out on the perfect day. Today was that day. Sun was shining bright and temperatures reached the 30 degree celsius range. What would summer be without the mandatory presence of one lightweight white cotton dress (or two, or three...)?
I love everything about this garment: the innocence, the romance, the comfort, and lest we forget, the way it makes that summer tan look like golden perfection. Add a floral headband to the mix and then ask yourself, who's better than you right now?

I love nearly all things vintage and retro, but I have a particular soft spot for the '50s and '60s. There's nothing I love more than a good circle skirt or fit n' flare dress paired with romantic waves and sensible heels.

So you can imagine the puddles of drool that formed around my laptop when I spotted this seafoam polka dot number from Modcloth. The skirt needs a bit of help in the flare department (nothing a few swings of the hips can't fix) but this piece is a true timeless classic.

Pajama Party

This ain't your little sister's slumber party! Being stylish has never been so comfy...
Being pear-shaped, Debbie and I understand the plight of most women to find flattering pants, but we are here to tell you it's ok to try the tapered pajama pant look! Style it with a loose-fitting or structured top and you are good to go.
