Tropical Dream

I was inspired recently by a pair of lia sophia earrings (called "Flamenco" no less) to go a little bit tropical, a little bit wild and a little bit electric in terms of a makeup look. And I'm loving it! There's nothing more fun in the summer than packing on tons of colours, whether it's your hair, your clothes, your makeup or your salad! Here's a quick how-to:
Prime your lids and dust a nude/beige base shadow all over before applying colour. Start with a really bright emerald green (shimmery or matte, I went with shimmer) and cover your entire lid going passed your outer lashes by just a bit. Follow with a bright royal blue (can be shimmery or matte, I went with matte) just on the outer half of your lid on top of the green. I also dabbed on a bit of a navy blue with sparkles on top but just a touch. Don't worry about it being messy at this stage, you just need to get the colour on there.
If this is as crazy as you're feeling, you can start blending the blue with the green where they meet and blending out the edges so they aren't as harsh and call it day. Or you can keep going and also line your lower lash line with the same colours (green on the inner half and blue on the outer half) and dab a bit of light green shimmery shadow on the inside corner of your eyes as a highlighter. This is where I stopped for my look, but if you're really feeling like standing out, finish with some black liner on your upper and lower lash line and a few coats of mascara before topping off the earring-inspired look with a bright fuchsia lip colour.

Green Blossom

Green blouse: Old Navy / Pants: Joe Fresh / Sweater: F21 / Shoes: Topshop / Belt and Hat: Thrifted / Earrings: Lia Sophia

Who would of thought that outfit inspiration could come from a pair of earrings? A couple of weeks ago, jewellery company Lia Sophia sent Jackie and I a few lovely samples of their collection. I really loved the earrings you see in the photos above and went ahead and fashioned an outfit using the green and peachy gold colour combination as my muse. Didn't have to look too far as I was really excited to wear these new Joe Fresh patterned jeans to welcome the spring weather. I also love the combination of all these fresh earthy tones and how refreshing it is to not be wearing any more black. Yay Spring!

Take A Bow

I have this obession with bow-tied blouses. Admittedly, I am actually kind of terrible at tying bows and knots (how is it that one end always ends up longer than the other?) but I just love the interest it adds to a regular button-down shirt. Not to mention the whole retro-effect. And there's never anything quite like a bright green top to brighten up those gloomy Autumn days.

Dressed To The Nines

Once in a blue moon, we like to cut loose with our coworkers away from our computers, files, deadlines and instant messengers. One such coworker, Miss Khanh (pictured above as the third Charlie's Angel), was actually the reason this blog came to pass. She even sent us an outlook appointment so we couldn't back out of it!

We convened with several other company cohorts at the recent RAW Art Show to support another coworker of ours, Michael Vesia (to be featured on the blog as the guest photographer in an upcoming post)! We also took this opportunity to feature the man behind the camera for most of our shoots, Mr. Kyler Kelly, looking dapper in a polka dot bow tie combo (ahem, courtesy of yours truly, Jackie the GF).

All in all, it was an evening of fine dining, fine arts and fine attire to remember!

Urban Jungle

I don't know why but this green skirt just makes me think JUNGLE. I spotted this little number at H&M and was immediately attracted to it. It might be the subtle contrast between the rugged safari-inspired print paired with the femininity of those layered tiers. Another thing I love about this skirt is that it will transition well into fall/winter, seeing as the darker tones will look great with a pair of black opaque nylons and some booties. I was tempted to pair this skirt with a simple black tank but then opted for this bright yellow top and I'm really glad I did. I am loving this color combination!
