Soaking Up The Sun

Photos by Kyler Kelly

H&M hat, Aldo sunnies, Primark top, Topshop bottoms, scarf from Korea, coral cuff from Turkey

As some of you may know, I was recently galavanting across Europe for an amazing five weeks and managed to snap some pics while I was there. I've been obsessed with a black and white contrasting look for a while and was on the search for a top to go with my favourite bottoms while overseas. There's something so classic and vintage about the colour combo. It was the perfect swimwear for lounging on a boat in the Mediterranean. I felt very Grace Kelly!

Lounging Around in Something Pretty

Dress: Forever 21 / Hat: Tristan

Let's face it, winter can get pretty depressing up here in Canada. And until I become a retired snowbird, I am forced to deal with it. During these dead months, we forget what it feels like to wear a sandal or take a stroll in a lightweight dress. These simple pleasures are lost. Well this is why I decided to indulge in one of my girliest floral frocks even if it was just to lounge around the house. Nothing like a little fashion pick-me-up!

Like A Million Bucks

Ladies (and gents), you may have noticed that I love a good bargain. It is my firm belief that you don't need to spend a ton on designer labels to make a statement! Even if you're not trying to make a statement, and you just don't want to look like a hobo.

You really can't go wrong shopping at thrift stores and cheap chains. It may take a bit of hunting around and creatively to piece all the details together (see The Devil Is In The Details), but allow me to be your thrifty tutor, your cheap coach, your penny-pinching pedagogue, and you'll discover the wonders of the $5 bin, how to cheap out on trends that you won't care about in a month, and the ever-elusive ripped-up-but-fixable sales rack find.

Ya don't need to spend a million bucks, to look like a million bucks!
