French Connection 2015 Fall/Winter Preview

Yesterday, I had a chance to take a quick peek at the French Connection Fall/Winter 2015 line and although I gotta say, I have barely begun to explore Spring and Summer, a few pieces from their collections really caught my eye.

The themes of the day were the usual suspects: lots of patterns, blacks, grunge, punk rock and retro styles, with some pop of colours like bright yellow and tomato red. There were also plenty of oversized sweaters and coats, with faux fur collars and capes (which you all know I adore!) But the pieces that really caught my eye were the party looks for Christmas and New Years, not to mention how they incorporated the same kinds of details in more casual pieces as well. It was all about the embellishments and little details. Tons of fringe hems, feathers, sequins and beading! There were so many fun party pieces that really made me rethink my whole winter hibernation habit. I gotta start finding more parties to go to...

French Connection SS15

Last week, Bouquet of Frocks was invited for a preview of the French Connection Spring Summer 2015 collection. I think it' safe to say we were utterly dazzled by the collection. There were so many amazing stand-alone pieces, it was difficult to pick our favourites.

The common themes we saw among the collection were dresses with a lot of movement, bright colors and some great mixed animal prints. We also loved the trend of white-on-white and mixed fabrics. So many great white pieces with lace detailing, transparent fabrics and even some organza...it was a feast for the eyes!
Debbie getting a closer look at that lovely organza overlay.
We know how much Jackie loves a good mid-calf skirt and this piece was right on point.
This maxi dress was Jackie's final pick for favourite piece. I mean look at it... The dress contains two layers, the slip underneath which hugs the body with a less fitted lace floral layer on top creating movement.
These pieces were part of the 70s hippie section. Gotta love that fringe and that beadwork.
Not surprisingly, this white dress stole my heart. That little flair effect at the bottom makes it really special.

Special thanks to the lovely Charmain Emerson at French Connection for organizing this special preview for us.

French Connection Preview: Fall/Winter 2014

Last week, Jackie and I were invited to a presentation of the French Connection Fall/Winter 2014 collection. Hosted by the fab Charmain Emerson (Marketing VP for Canada) in collaboration with LouLou magazine, we were presented with some key looks for the upcoming season. Additionally, Charmain also brought some pieces from their current Spring/Summer collection to give us a taste of what was in stores right now.

The fall/winter pieces were pretty diversified but one thing that we can never live without in those chillier months is our (faux) fur! This jacket was quite impressive as it could almost fool you to think it was real. We also loved the chic collarless aspect of it.
I have to say that I really loved these two pieces from the fall/winter collection: a baby blue wool coat and this wonderful black and white flare dress with lace detail.
We also saw some interesting tops with real life landscapes used to create unique prints.
Next, we took a look at the spring/summer collection that is in stores right now. This rack was full of lighter tones including lots of white pieces, my favourite colour for summer!
The detailing on the white dress below made us extra giddy!
The lovely Charmain charming the room.
